·What is the difference between simple search and
advanced search
Advanced search
-Advanced search is similar to simple search
-In advanced search you can search on multiple values of same
Field / Criteria
-E.g.: - if a case has two judges Mr. ABC and Mr. XYZ then both
these names can be stated in the search query. Also "Anding" and "Oring" of
these criteria’s can be done which is not possible in simple search
-Advanced search is divided into four sections
1.Citation and date
2.Text
3.Judge
4.Court
-User can select multiple values for Text, Judge and Court
Section, along with Adding and Oring operation
-For Citation Section user can write year, volume, page and
publication, these are optional fields
-User can search citation within date range by selecting date
filter
Simple search
-User can search for the cases (across databases) specifying
the text in the intended judgment.
-User can search cases in the database by specifying the text,
which can be searched by citation criteria, specified i.e.
year-volume-publication-page no.-court-judge, these are optional.
-If user not specified the citation criteria then by default
search is done on native publication(i.e. GJX) on user specified text.
-If user is very specific about the term, in that case he can
use exact / phrase search (by giving the test string in the quotes).
After selecting Acts, Rules or Notification database, search is
provided for specifying the text in the intended Acts, Rules or Notification.
You can have search by reference (of Acts, Rules or Notification) also.
